*Public Lands in Public Hands, Inc. is a Tennessee non-profit (Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c) (4))  public benefit corporation formed by members of the Hillwood and West Meade communities for the express purpose of promoting the protection of public lands, to allow the general public equal opportunity for access and use of public lands, and to promote the preservation of lands currently in public ownership to remain in public ownership.  The Corporation may, to the extent doing so will be in the interest of the public, promote and preserve the public schools or other public institutions which may be located on public lands.  No part of net earnings of the corporation shall inure to the benefit of or be distributed to any individual having a personal or private interest in the corporation.
